So what exactly is drop shipping all about? I begin to explain drop shipping a little but with my drop shipping reviews section, where I recommend the 3 best drop shipping programs, but in this section I want to go a little further into drop shipping. I want to explain exactly what it is, the steps to succeed, how to integrate it into e-Bay, and how to use drop shipping both with and without a web site.
Many people get confused about how selling products online works, and this is usually a deterrent to their success. A simple misunderstanding can cause a person to quit trying to succeed, or not start all together. It is very important that you understand how drop shipping works, because this is a very important part of being successful at selling physical products online.
Drop shipping is when you sell physical products with or without a web site, and you never buy, store, ship, package, or ever even see the products that you are selling. The drop shipping company for the product(s) you are selling are the actual ones who do all of that work.
You simply drive people to your web site (if you are using a web site for drop shipping), and those people place orders for the products through your web site. The money goes directly into your bank account, and then you pay the drop shipper less than what the buyers are paying you, giving you a nice profit for simply selling. The amount you make depends on the commissions that the company is offering you.
You never even have to set up a web site if you want to sell products through e-Bay by setting up an online store. That is how a lot of the power sellers on e-Bay are operating, directly through drop shippers. I recommend that you use a web site, because I think that drop shipping through a web site can be much more profitable.
8 Important Steps To Drop Shipping…
There are some very important steps that you need to take when you start selling products via drop shipping. All the drop shipping I am going to cover will be with a web site, again because I believe this can be much more profitable and has much more potential. Your web site is your, and will always be yours and you can control how things are done, whereas with e-Bay you cannot control many aspects of how it works because you do not own the site. It is much better to have total control.
8 Important Steps For Drop Shipping:

1. Decide if you are going to be selling with or without a web site.

2. Decide which products you are going to be selling. Make sure when you pick which products you are going to sell that they are in the same category. For example, don’t sell video games and dvd players. Sell video games and video game systems (and video game accessories). This way you can make more sales from the same person, as they can add different same niche products to their shopping cart!

3. Decide which supplier you will be using for drop shipping. You need to find the all around best supplier, and make sure you do your research. Just because a supplier is the cheapest and offers the most commission doesn’t make them the best. Make sure they have a good history with other drop shippers, and their shipments are on time and accurate.

4. Setup your account with the drop shipping supplier you pick. You will be opening a reseller account with them, which will usually be a small fee, but well worth it.

5. Do your keyword research for exactly which words you will be going after. Make sure you have read the section on Keywords And Keyword Research in the learning center to see why this is so important to do. You don’t want to waste all this money and time by picking the wrong keywords.

6. Setup your domain and hosting. Set your domain to something with your main keywords in it if possible, as this helps with your site’s ranking.

What NOT To Do…
Now I want to cover some of the things that you should NOT do. The following are some major mistakes that people make when setting up their drop shipping business. Again, make sure you do NOT do these following things when setting up your drop shipping business!
Steps NOT to take…

1. Do not sell something because everyone else is selling it. Do not sell something because someone else told you to sell it. Do not sell something because you hear other people are successful with it.

2. Do not design your site, pick out your domain, or host your site. There are so many people out there that waste so much money by spending thousands of dollars on a site design, and hundreds more on domain and hosting because they can’t find anyone who has the products they want to sell. There is a good chance you will waste money if you do this, so don’t do it!

3. Not setting up an LLC or other kind of business entity for your drop shipping business. This is definitely a huge mistake, because setting up a business entity will protect you! There are also tons of tax benefits in setting up a business entity. So if you don’t do this to look professional, at least do it for protection and tax reasons!
You want to make sure that you do NOT do these things listed above, as many before you have done these things and it has been the root of their failure. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
