Beating Googles Panda Update

Beating Googles Panda Update

Before getting into the Panda update, I want to recommend Wealthy Affiliate, which is the #1 reason that I am where I am today; and that is making a six figure a year income on the internet. I have been healthily making a very nice income from the internet from affiliate marketing, search engine optimization, pay per click, and other forms of online marketing. Wealthy Affiliate is the company that I learned the most from by far, and if you can afford a membership I highly recommend it! If you do join, find me in the forum and shoot me a message; I am user melovemoney as you may have guessed. I just wanted to give credit where it was due before moving on. Now lets go into the Panda Update, and beating the Panda Update.

So what exactly is the Panda Update? The Panda Update is basically a change in Google’s algorithm that is meant to fight spam and low quality web sites. This update has made a ton of different changes in Google’s search results and it has made a HUGE rattle in the internet marketing world. The Panda Update has definitely changes search engine optimization as we know it, as the game is totally different now (see Changes To MeLoveMoney.com to see recent changes in my site).

Way back in the day about 10 years ago, getting to the top of the search engines was as easy as doing some easy things that would trick the search engines. I’m talking about stuffing your pages with keywords, using invisible text and links on your site, and other super easy concepts that people were using to easily rise to the top of the search engines.

Over the years it has become harder and harder to get to the top of the search engines. Each year, the search engines become smarter and smarter. Just recently, one of the most common forms of getting to the top of the search engines was using article marketing – and more often using “black hat” forms of article marketing in order to get yourself to the top of the search engines for your given keywords (How to Use Proper On Page Optimization).

Basically what people were doing was using articles to get tons and tons of different links from many different places. The problem was that they were using the same article to get all of these links. And you may be saying, but what about the duplicate content penalties? Well, people weren’t using the same EXACT article to send out and get all of these links, they were using many different spun versions of the same article to get a ton of different links – basically saturating the search engines with different versions of the same article.

So when searchers were searching for stuff in the search engines, there were a lot of different categories and niches where browsers would keep getting the same exact information (just worded differently). How would you feel if you were using a search engine to search for something and you just kept getting the same old information worded differently?

You click on result number 1 and read an article on the topic you are looking for. Doesn’t have everything that you are looking for so you go to #2, except you find the same thing, just worded a little differently. Now you go on to spot number 3, again, basically the same information, but again it’s just worded differently. This does not look good for a search engine that prides itself on giving the user unique results, and a search engine that focuses on giving the users the closest results to what they’re looking for.

And not even to mention that a lot of these articles that are being written and re-spun are not very good articles. And these not very good articles were appearing at the top of the search engines. Again, not a very good look for the top search engine who prides themselves on giving the searcher great results (Outsourcing Your Article Writing).

A lot of you may be wondering, well how were these not very well written, re-spun articles getting to the top of the search engines? Well a lot of it had to do with all the weight that the article sites were carrying – along with savvy internet marketers being able to find keywords that they know their article will easily appear at the tops of the search engine for without even having to get a bunch of links (again because some of these article sites just carry so much weight, like EzineArticles.com).

So this is exactly why the Panda Update came out, and this is exactly the type of stuff that the Panda Update was meant to fight. The Panda Update was meant to clean up Google’s search engine of all of the crappy articles, all of the re-spun articles, and all of the spammy type sites that have been littering the Google search results for many previous years.

Now when the Panda Update first came out, and even now for that matter, it sent a lot of people in the internet marketing community in an uproar. I am bold enough to state that MOST of the internet marketing community did not like the Panda Update and were complaining about how their website or websites lost their rankings. And when I say lost their rankings, I’m talking about hundreds of keywords that were in the top of the search engines were no where to be found anymore (Why You Should Analyze Your Website Traffic).

You were hearing these complaints all over the internet, and especially all over the internet marketing forums. There were not many people out there that were not complaining. But one of the people who were not complaining is me. You know why? Because I have always put out unique content. I am in this business to make money – but I am also in this business to get the people the information that they are looking for.

What I mean is that the Panda Update actually helped me, and I am definitely WAY in the minority in this aspect. You know why? Because people are naturally lazy. Most of the internet marketers in the tops of the search engines were doing it the easy way, basically sending out hundreds if not thousands of spun articles all over the internet in order to get their websites to rank in the top of the search engines.

Writing one article and spinning it 50 times is a LOT easier than writing 50 unique articles. And this is what most of the internet marketing population were doing. They were taking the lazy way out and writing one great article and spinning it a bunch of times.

And it worked, it would get them ranked at the top of the search engines eventually when they got enough of their spun articles out there. But the problem with this is that they were putting out a bunch of crap in the search engines (crap being the same information in different words, over and over again). And for their own benefit, they are giving searchers a much less effective set of search results (Using Google Analytics on Your Website).

Luckily this is something that I never did. I always wrote unique articles (or hired people to write unique articles) because I understand the concept of unique content. I mean who wants to keep reading the same information over and over again in different words? No one does! But these selfish internet marketers did not care, and they sent out a bunch of these spun articles anyways for their own benefit of making money.

But they all got exactly what they deserved when Google’s Panda Update hit. Their sites dropped way down in the search engines and they started crying like a bunch of babies! If they actually put in REAL work and built a REAL business around REAL websites, they would not have had to worry about the Panda Update.

Regardless of what you may or may not have heard about Google’s Panda Update – you have to understand that Google is just trying to give the users of their search engine the best results possible, I mean do you blame them? If you were in their position would you want your search engines littered with a bunch of the same information in different words? Of course you wouldn’t (How Youtube Can Improve Your Business).

Google is a multi-billion dollar business that is just trying to improve their search results. They are just trying to improve their algorithm to give the users of their search engines the best experience possible. And anyone who blames them for that is just a victim of their own laziness (at least in most cases). With that said of course nothing is perfect, and the Panda Update wasn’t perfect either.

I’m sure that there were sites that were hit hard that were unique. I’m sure there were sites that were hit hard that were really legitimate businesses that had all unique content and had worked hard to put out unique content. But like I said no algorithm is going to be perfect unfortunately, and Google is doing their best to just give the best possible search results to the searcher.

Hopefully this helped you understand the Google Panda Update, and hopefully if you previously looked at this update in Google’s algorithm that you no longer look negatively at it. They are just a business that is trying to do what’s best for them and the users of their product – remember that!
